Welcome to my website. Here I offer expertise in several fields of music and musicology. I am a performer on the viola da gamba, double bass, and violone, and I’m also a writer, lecturer and editor in various areas of music history and music performance practice. I specialise in the music of the Baroque, but I'm not limited to that era.

I received my B.A. at the University of Sydney and my PhD at the University of Queensland. I also have over 30 years experience as a professional symphony orchestra player, and have performed with many specialist early music groups in Australia and Europe. I'm a founding member of Brisbane's ensemble for performance of Baroque music on original instruments, the Badinerie Players, and an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Music, University of Queensland.

I'm the author of the book, Frederick the Great and His Musicians: the Viola da Gamba Music of the Berlin School (Aldershot: Ashgate, 2008)

I'm based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
